Testway Transform’s Money Box fund gave the Andover Invitation Darts Youth Academy £2,000 to buy shirts and to support the annual presentation evening, later in the year.
The academy is the first of its kind in the country, outside London. The encouragement they give to the youngsters builds confidence, self esteem, sportsmanship, dignity, ambition and team spirit.
Glen Dawkins, chairman of the academy said: “The new uniforms give the youngsters a sense of belonging and pride.”
We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved in the last 18 months. The money given by Testway is a massive help to keep us going and maintain number one status in the UK.”
Up to 40 youngsters, boys and girls, meet at Andover's Entertainer pub which bans smoking, swearing and alcohol - even to accompanying adults - during play and training sessions.
Members improve their numeracy skills by going to the weekly sessions, without them even realising it!
